Welcome!Thank you for taking the time to view my digital teaching portfolio and learn about who I am as an educator.
I am a 2016 graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education, learning disabilities with a teaching major in language arts. I graduated in the summer of 2020 with my Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. My blood runs green through and through. Many of my family members have attended Michigan State University for their college education, and I have followed in their footsteps through my undergraduate and graduate educational career. I was on the MSU Pompon team for four years serving as the assistant captain my junior year and captain my senior year. GO GREEN! I am truly passionate about working with students who have diverse and special needs. Teaching is my calling in life, and it gives me an important purpose in this world. I cannot imagine being in any other career other than teaching. I co-taught 3rd-5th grade math and lead taught 3rd-5th language arts intervention groups at Union Ridge School District 86 in Harwood Heights, Illinois for three years. I also coached middle school cheerleading for one year. Currently I work as a 2nd-4th grade special education teacher at Freeland Elementary School in Freeland, Michigan. I love to spend time with my friends and family up at my cottage in northern Michigan. I am a mom to two Persian cats Oliver (black cat) and Poppy (gray cat).
