Class BINGO Board |
Learning happens when effective behavior management structures are in place. In my classroom I teach students what is expected of them. I acknowledge my students daily for behaviors such as interacting kindly with one another, collaborating effectively with their peers, and putting forth their best effort. Behavior management that is focused on what students are doing right is more successful over time because it brings out the best in students. Having a positive reinforcement system as the center of my behavior management is what creates a cooperative and respectful learning environment.
Class Bingo is a great behavior motivator for the entire class. During transitions, the whole class or table groups earn points for their behavior as they transition between classes. Students cannot lose points, but positive reinforcements encourages appropriate behaviors. Once the Class Bingo board has been filled the class goal is met. As a whole class students are able to decide what they would like their reward to be. This reward system creates incentives to the whole table group to follow directions and transition quickly and quietly. |
